CAMAS PINOT NOIR
The Camas range declines 12 different grape varieties. Each of these illustrates their specific characteristics from their terroir of origin: Limoux (Languedoc Roussillon).
Since the commitment of Anne de Joyeuse to our Protect Planet program, the local environment has strongly gained in biological diversity. We can now identify more than eighty species of orchids in our vineyards. The best known of these is locally called the ‘Bee Orchid’.
Size: 750 ml
Responsible for some of the greatest wines on earth – the exhausted red wines. It’s a wine that needs to struggle to produce great wines but when it does the depth of flavours that range from cherry to cola can be explosive and the wines bright acidity and gently tannis make them approachable and widely appealing.
VINEYARD : Close control of the small vineyard plots of Pinot Noir, according to our reasoned viticultural methods ; observation of the natural plant cycles of vines and the development of biodiversity. Our vines are located in the upper valley of the Aude on clay and limestone soils and benefit from a wide range of temperatures with the cool climatic influence from the Pyrenees.
VINIFICATION : Cold maceration before the alcoholic fermentation during which the crust is immersed each day
TASTING NOTES : Serve lightly refreshed beween 12 and 14°C. Attractive cherry red in colour, delicate cherry brandy fruit on the nose leads to a rich palate with notes of fresh red fruit.
Matching with food
Soft and well balanced, this wine will accompany a garlic-seasoned shoulder or leg of lamb with haricot beans or simply as an aperitif with some tasty tapas.
